The Stonebridge Country Club Men’s League will be played on Thursdays, with tee times running from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm. A practice round will be Thursday May 8, 2008 with meeting to follow. The official start date of the league will be Thursday May 15, 2008. FORMAT FOR 2008 The format for Thursday league will be similar to last year’s format. Rather than having teams, the league will be Flighted according to Handicap. Players will play against the other players in their Flight. This will allow for fewer strokes given and more even matches. All league players will be divided into several flights.. All matches will be match play with Handicaps taken into account...all players must have a valid handicap A player will get 1 point for each hole he wins, 1/2 point for a tie and 1 point for winning the match. Matches between players will be scheduled in advance. Each player must get in touch with his opponent for the week and arrange for a time to play. If your opponent can’t make it that night, you can agree to make up the match before the following match. If no arrangement for makeup can be made, the player that shows up to play gets 7 points for beating his handicap or 5 points for just showing up and playing. Rules and further details to be discussed at the May 8th meeting. Cost for the league is $75. Non members will also pay a twilight rate of $20 per round. Everyone in the league must maintain a proper handicap. Sign-up forms WITH PAYMENT must be returned to the pro shop no later than May 1, 2008. The league will officially begin on May 15, 2008. The duration of the league will be determined by the number of participants. The men’s league will not be playing the week of the Fourth of July.
